Two students feared drowned in Puri sea

Puri: In an unfortunate incident, two students went missing in the Puri sea while bathing on Friday.

Jadumani Baccha, a student of Bargarh-based Vikash Junior College and Akash Khakha of Rourkela Ispat College were feared drowned, said police sources.

The incident occurred while they were taking bath near Swarg Dwar along with their friends.

Sources said a group of eight students had come to Puri today to have Jagannath darshan. However, they visited the sea beach and later engaged in bathing.

While bathing near Swarga Dwar, four of them, unfortunately, got swept away by the sea current. Out of the four, two were rescued by the lifeguards and were given first-aid.

However, the other two, Jadhumani and Akash, are still missing. A search operation is still on to trace them, said police.
