121th birth anniversary of Netaji Bose

Odisha remembers Subhas Bose, Veer Surendra Sai


Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Tuesday remembered Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Veer Surendra Sai on their birth anniversaries.

While the 121th birth anniversary of Netaji Bose was observed in a big way at his birthplace in Odia Bazaar in Cuttack, the 209 birthday of freedom fighter Surendra Sai was observed at his native village Khinda in Sambalpur district.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid homage at the Janakinath Bhawan where Netaji was born on January 23, 1897.

“My heartfelt tribute & salutations to the great freedom fighter, exemplary patriot & son of Odisha, #Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary. His undying love for the motherland & courage and sacrifice for country’s freedom continues to guide us in Nation-building,” tweeted the Chief Minister.

He also paid floral tribute to Veer Surendra Sai at state Assembly.

Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik paid tributes to great freedom fighters, Netaji Subash Chandra Bose and Veer Surendra Sai by sculpting two different sand arts at golden beach of Puri.
