Mahanga Bikash Parishad chief Sarada Pradhan joins BJP


Cuttack: Mahanga Bikash Parishad chief Sarada Pradhan on Friday joined the Bharatiya Janata Patry (BJP) in presence of Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in Odisha’s Cuttack.

Sarada Pradhan along with his hundreds of supporters joined the BJP at a meeting held at Banua Pitha in Kuanpal under the Mahanga Assembly constituency in Cuttack district.

With the joining, the Mahanga Bikash Parishad dissolved within BJP.

Notably, Sarada Pradhan unsuccessfully contested the 2014 assembly election from Mahanga as an Independent candidate against BJD’s Pratap Jena.

Welcoming Pradhan and his supporters to the party fold, the Union Petroleum Minister said that the party will be more effective in Mahanga and serve the people with utmost responsibility and care.

Senior leaders like Sameer Mohanty, Sameer Dey, Lekhashree Samantray were present during the Mishran Parva.

The Union Minister was taken in a bike rally from Jagatpur Square to the venue. He was welcomed by his supporters and party workers along the entire route.
