Bhubaneswar: Cyber Crime police of Odisha Crime Branch (CB) on Thursday arrested a 26-year-old youth for his alleged role in posting morphed and obscene photographs of a girl on social media.
The accused have been identified as Manish Jha, who hails from Kansar village under Belsand police limits in Bihar. The police have arrested the youth from New Delhi, where he was staying.
The investigation officers have seized the mobile phone, SIM cards and Micro SD memory card from the possession of the accused.
The victim girl filed a complaint regarding the creation of fake Facebook accounts and posting of her personal photographs, morphed photographs having pornographic content containing sexually explicit act and conduct, said a statement.
Apart from this, the victim girl and her family had received a number of obscene and morphed materials through Whatsapp.
On the basis of technical evidence and reports, it was found that the accused had created and accessed the fake Facebook accounts and morphed the pictures of the victim, the statement added.
