IAS, OAS bodies slam attack on Pandian’s residence

Bhubaneswar: Hours after some BJP workers ransacked the official quarter of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s private secretary VK Pandian, the state unit of IAS Officers’ Association and Odisha Administrative Service Officers’ Association on Saturday condemned the attack and demanded action against the accused as per the law.

IAS association secretary Vishal Dev said all the IAS officers belong to the Central Government and such attacks will not be tolerated.

“IAS officers should not be targeted personally. They belong to the Central Government. It is sad and unfortunate to see that an IAS officer is being targeted here. Time has come to initiate strong action,” said Dev.

OAS Officers’ Association also condemned the attack and demanded immediate action against the troublemakers.

“Attackers and conspirators must be booked at the earliest,” said OAS Officers’ Association president Saroj Samal.

Earlier on today morning accusing Pandian of meddling in politics violating service code, some BJP workers barged into the residence of the 2000-batch IAS officer and hurled cow dung at his government accommodation and damaged some flower pots while raising slogans against him.
