14th Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav concludes with contemporary dance

Bhubaneswar: It was the concluding day of the 14th Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav organised by Department of Tourism and Orissa Dance Akademy and Art Vision.

Reverberating the gospel of peace and rejuvenating the nuances of Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi and Contemporary, the valedictory evening was really a splendid one leaving the connoisseurs mesmerized.

‘Ruchi Buddha Samman’ was presented to Padma Vibhushan Dr Sonal Mansingh.

The first item of the concluding evening was a poetry recitation by Subroto Bagchi, Chairman of Skill Development Authority of Odisha followed by Kathak Dance by Vidha Lal & Group.

They have presented an item on River Ganga. The next presentation was the River Yamuna in the form of Kuchipudi dance by Prateeksha Kashi & Group.

The next presentation was Odissi dance by the students of Orissa Dance Academy, Bhubaneswar. Their presentation was Ahimsa – an ode to the father of the nation. The choreographic presentation was made by the students of Orissa Dance Academy under the direction of Padmashree Awardee Guru Aruna Mohanty.

The last presentation of the concluding evening was contemporary dance by Madhu Nataraj & Group. They have presented an item ”AIKYAM- Invoking Equipoise”.
