Egg attack: Odisha CM directs police to withdraw cases against woman


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday directed police to withdraw all cases against the lady who had hurled eggs at him during a meeting at Balasore a few days back.

Earlier, the police had dropped the attempt to murder charge on the woman who had allegedly hurled an egg at the Chief Minister on January 31.

Rajashree Kamila, the lactating mother of an eight-month-old boy, is undergoing treatment in SCB medical college and hospital after she became critically ill. She was arrested due to the egg attack on Odisha CM.

Following the egg attack on Odisha CM, the woman faces cases under IPC Section 120B (criminal conspiracy), 294 (obscene acts), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 506 (criminal intimidation).

Recently, the husband of Rajashree alleged that he was not allowed to see his wife in the hospital.
