Odisha says no to organise PM’s Pariksha Pe Charcha in schools

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday refused to make special arrangements in schools for students to listen to the examination tips by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his “Pariksha Pe Charcha (discussions on exams)” Programme.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has authored a how-to guide on handling exam stress, will interact with students on February 16.

Students from Class 6 to 12 have been asked to watch on Doordarshan, All India Radio, YouTube and all government websites the telecast of what has been dubbed the “Pariksha Pe Charcha”.

Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra said since the High School Certification Examination in Odisha will be held on February 23, it would not be proper to arrange “Pariksha Pe Charcha” programme for the school students.

“We do not oppose the Prime Minister’s programme. We have already instructed the officers to inform the students about the programmes. But, it would not be appropriate to organize it in schools when the exam is approaching,” said Patro.

Recently, the Union Minister for Human Resources Development Prakash Javedkar in a letter to the state government had requested to make arrangement in schools to help the students listen to the Prime Minister’s tips how to face the exam.
