Man found dead with throat slit at MLA Colony in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a man was found dead with his throat slit near the MLA Colony under Unit IV area of Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Gopi Maharana, a carpenter.

According to police, Gopi and his brother had been staying in a house near MLA Colony for last 30 years.

The two brothers were seen taking tea and paan from a nearby shop at around 8 am on Saturday.

However, Gopi’s body was found an hour later. A neighbour first saw the body of Gopi with blood oozing out from his throat. Then, he called others and informed the police.

According to locals, the incident occurred between 9 am to 10 am on Saturday.

DCP Satyabrata Bhoi and IIC and staffs of the Kharvel Nagar police station along with a scientific team rushed to the spot and started an investigation.
