Odisha Labour Minister’s brother attacked; 3 arrested


Bhubaneswar: Police on Friday arrested three persons for allegedly attacking Odisha Labour Minister Susanta Singh’s brother and three of his associates in Bargarh district.

The arrested persons are from Sohela area, the constituency represented by Susant Singh.

Police said some unidentified miscreants attacked Labour Minister’s brother Subrat Singh and three others at Banabira village under Sohela block of Bargarh district late Thursday night.

Police suspect that the attack on Labour Minister’s brother might be related to by-poll for Bijepur assembly constituency scheduled on February 24.

The injured were initially taken to community health centre at Sohela and later shifted to VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Sambalpur.
