Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced to set up as many as 100 hostels having the capacity of 100 seats each for 10,000 OBC/SEBC students in 14 major educational centres of the state.
OBC/SEBC students pursuing higher education with parents’ income of less than Rs 1 lakh per annum will be eligible to stay in the hostels.
The Odisha government will spend Rs 185 crore for the purpose.
“100 number of hundred seater hostels for 10,000 OBC/SEBC students will be opened by the State Government in 14 major educational centres of the State at an outlay of about Rs 185 crores,” announced Patnaik.
The selection will be made based on merit, said the Chief Minister.
