Minor boy sexually abused, attacked in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A minor boy was allegedly sexually abused and later brutally attacked in Pipili area in Odisha’s Puri district.

He was admitted to the SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar. His condition is stated to be critical.

According to reports, the child was playing outside his house on Sunday afternoon when one of his neighbours lured him with a mango and took him to an under-construction building along the Puri-Bhubaneswar National Highway where he had allegedly established unnatural sex with the minor.

Later, in a bid to conceal the crime he attempted to kill the child by bludgeoning him with a brick, said police sources.

The child was rescued in a critical condition from the under-construction building on Sunday midnight after an extensive search and rescue operation by police and scientific team officials.

First, the victim was rushed to Pipili PHC and then to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. As his condition deteriorated, he was admitted to SUM Hospital where a team of doctors is treating him.

Meanwhile, the police have started an investigation to nab the culprit.
