Bhubaneswar: The sine die at the Central University of Orissa, Koraput will be lifted on April 2, informed Vice-Chancellor Prof Sachidananda Mohanty on Wednesday.
He said the classes shall commence from April 3 at the University.
“Based on a comprehensive review of the prevailing situation, it has been decided by the Vice-Chancellor that the teaching departments and the hostels of the University shall reopen on 2nd April and classes shall commence from 3rd April,” said a statement from the Central University of Orissa.
The University has accepted most of the demands of the students that are under its purview and will attempt to fulfil the same at the earliest.
About the rest, such as infrastructure proposals and faculty recruitments pending with the MHRD and UGC, it said efforts will be made to secure an early approval of them.
The Vice-Chancellor has appealed to all the stakeholders, especially the students not to be swayed by rumours and false propaganda and maintain peace, concentrate on their career and join hands with the university to take it forward.
