Former Union Minister Chandrasekhar Sahu joins BJD

Bhubaneswar: Former Union Minister and Congress leader Chandrasekhar Sahu along with his supporters joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday.

Sahu along with former Ganjam district president Bhagaban Gantayat and former AICC member Bikram Panda joined the party in presence of Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik during a ‘Mishran Parva’ in Berhampur.

Sahu was the Minister of State for Rural Development during the Congress-led UPA Government from 2004 to 2009.

Earlier, Sahu along with Gantayat and Panda had resigned from Congress on March 29.
