Plus II answer paper evaluation begins amid protests of block grant teachers


Bhubaneswar: The evaluation of answer sheets of Plus II examination has started in Odisha amid protests of block grant teachers on Wednesday.

The evaluation process will continue till April 26 in two phases.

The block grant college teachers boycotted the evaluation process and staged a dharna outside the 29 evaluation centres across the state.

The agitating teachers were not allowing other teachers to enter the centres and participate in the Plus II answer paper evaluation process.

However, police, district education officers and Council of Secondary Education officials were keeping a strict vigil on the agitating teachers for a smooth conduct of the evaluation process.

The CHSE, which conducts the examination, has made elaborate arrangements for smooth scrutiny of the papers. While the answer sheets will be evaluated in the first phase from April 4 to 14, the second phase will start on April 16 and conclude on April 26, said Panda.

Answer sheets of a total of 3,65,826 candidates in various streams-Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational -from 1,539 junior colleges will be evaluated. The examination which started from March 6 will conclude on March 29.

The practical examinations were held earlier between January 29 and February 9.
