Bhubaneswar: Video of two girls allegedly beaten up by Nayapalli police in Bhubaneswar went viral on social media on Saturday.
The two girls have uploaded some pictures and a video on social media alleging that they were thrashed mercilessly by the Nayapalli cops a few days ago.
The pictures and videos have created ripples in the capital city.
However, police refuted the allegation and claimed that there was a clash between two families over property dispute while the injury marks on victim’s body are the results of the clash.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police YB Khurania said that the matter will be investigated and action will be taken against those found guilty.
The incident came a day after Director General of Police (DGP) Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma suspended Nimapara police station IIC Mrutyunjay Swain for allegedly assaulting an elderly woman on Monday on the police station premises.
