Odisha BJP women wing releases posters for Mahila Suraksha Yatra


Bhubaneswar: The women wing of Odisha BJP on Monday released posters and leaflets ahead of state-wide Mahila Suraksha and Samman Yatra.

The women wing will protest against growing atrocities against minor girls and women.

The campaign will start on May 17 and culminate on May 29, said BJP sources.

As part of the campaign, Mahila Suraksha Raths will be rolled out from seven prominent temples in the state for the safety and dignity of women, informed State Women Wing president Pravati Parida.

Pardia said the activists will reach out to 50,000 villages and touch one crore women on the issue.

During the campaign, Parida said, they will raise the issue as to how the girls have been forced to commit suicide.

They will also sensitise the people about the inefficiency of the BJD-led Odisha government to maintain law and order situation in the state.

Besides, the party will raise many sensitive women atrocity cases, including Kunduli gang-rape case.

They will sensitise women how seven rapes take place per day on an average in the state.
