Man kills wife over illicit relationship in Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar: A man strangulated her wife to death in Betonati area in Mayurbhanj district, said police on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Ninimani Mahant and the ‘killer’ husband as Dambarudhar Mahant.

Though the exact reason behind the incident was not yet known, it is suspected that Dambarudhar killed Ninimani over her alleged illicit relationship with another man.

The Betonati police have detained Dambarudhar and are interrogating him.
