Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday launched “Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana” for working journalists.
The health insurance scheme will be implemented with effect from June 1, 2018.
In the first phase, as many as 3233 working journalists in the state will get health insurance coverage up to Rs 2 lakh a year.
Besides, up to five family members of every working journalist can also avail up to Rs 2 lakh towards health insurance, a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) informed.
The working journalists will get their Health Insurance card from the District Information & Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) in their respective districts.
The beneficiaries can avail the facility by using their health insurance identification number after June 1.
