Couple thrashed after caught in compromising position in Koraput

Jeypore: A young couple was beaten mercilessly after they were caught in a compromising position inside a school at Phampuni village in Odisha’s Koraput district.

The two were caught by the relatives of the girl in a compromising position inside a school at Phampuni village in Jeypore on Friday night, said sources.

The couple was later admitted to hospital after they sustained injuries.

Sources said a 25-year-old youth of Phampuni village was in love with a Scheduled Caste girl of the same village and had maintained a physical relationship with her on the assurance of marriage.

Meanwhile, a rape case against the youth has been filed by the girl’s family at the Sadar police station. On the other hand, the youth’s family lodged a complaint of attempt to murder against the girl’s family.
