Prepaid taxi booth at Biju Patnaik International Airport

Bhubaneswar: In order to check unregulated taxi prices at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), the Commissionerate Police and airport authorities have decided to set up a prepaid taxi booth at the airport for the benefit of the air travellers.

Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said a meeting will be held with airport officials next week to discuss the prepaid taxi counter at the airport premises.

The booth will feature the Commissionerate Police logo while the operations will be monitored by the police that will give a sense of security to travellers.

Prepaid auto-rickshaw services have been operational at the railway station, Baramunda bus stand and KIIT University.

A popular app-based cab hailing service currently has a booth inside the airport. Sources also said that there is an unauthorised taxi service outside Terminal 1.
