Odisha govt declares 10456.64 ha as pest-affected

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has declared 10456.64 hectares of agriculture land in the state as pest-affected.

The government also directed the concerned authorities to undertake relief measures in the areas.

As per field verification reports submitted by the District Collectors, an area of 10456.64 hectares in 1567 villages under 319 Gram Panchayats of 15 Blocks and 15 wards of 4 urban local bodies in two districts have sustained crop loss of 33 percent and above due to pest attack.

The state government has authorised the concerned district collectors to undertake relief measures in the notified area.
