Niranjan slams Modi, Naveen for giving false promises

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik on Mondat said the governments at the centre and the state are fooling the public by making a number of false promises.

“When the prime minister of the country is standing on a heap of false promises and the chief minister of Odisha is doing nothing but enjoying power since more than 18 years, an eighth class girl student is giving birth to a child in the hostel at Daringbadi of Phulbani district,” said Patnaik.

“Many such incidents have happened before also during this rule. This is the clear reflection of failure of government in every sphere,” alleged the PCC president.

He demanded that the Chief Minister should take moral responsibility and step down and also ask the Minister in charge of Tribal Welfare in his cabinet to resign immediately on this issue.

Niranjan said PM and his team visiting Odisha frequently and in the election year announcing packages worth thousands crores only to fool the people.

Likewise, Odisha government is announcing schemes almost every day and distributing money to garner votes. Both BJD and BJP are two sides of a coin and moving on the same path, alleged Niranjan.

He said Modi had promised to implement Swaminathan committee recommendations on MSP hike before 2014 election.

But why Modi did not keep his promise, asked Patnaik.

“Modi also promised to provide 2 crore employment to the youth. But has he given a single employment in Western Odisha and set up a single unit there? How much the government of India has invested for employment creation, let the PM disclose,” demanded Niranjan.
