Bhaweshwar: Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has signed a memorandum of understanding with India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)-Bhubaneswar for establishing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in ESDM space Electropreneur Park at Bhubaneswar.

The MoU enables to provide state-of-the-art facility for the promotion of IT Industry, ESDM innovation, R&D and creation of IP.

Electropreneur Park to be established at Bhubaneswar is the second such initiative by STPI after its immense success in New Delhi.

Around 40 startups are expected to benefit from this CoE where the emphasis will be on IP and product creation to fulfill the increasing demand of electronic products in the domestic market.

This collaboration will foster the existing entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region and create new and promising avenues for industry and startups.

On this occasion, Dr. Omkar Rai, Director General- STPI said, “STPI has strived towards creating incubation centres which complement each other in terms of optimizing the utilization of resources.”

Dr. Omkar Rai further added, “The Electropreneur Park at New Delhi was the first of its kind incubator established through a collaborative model. Through the vision of ‘Design in India’, ‘Make in India’ and the success that Electropreneur Park has had, this CoE aims at creating products and IP in electronic system design and manufacturing sector.”

“To create a synergy between the Electropreneur Parks at New Delhi and Bhubaneswar, we have decided that both the Parks shall work in a collaborative manner and they will also capitalize on the other STPI facilities such as Characterization Lab in Bengaluru and Fab Lab in Bhubaneswar.

STPI shall replicate this initiative and will capitalize and utilize the various Electropreneur Parks by enabling virtual access for startups that are not able to physically locate themselves to avail the services of Electropreneur Park remotely. In times to come, the virtual pan-India Electropreneur Park shall catalyze electronic product development by startups/youngsters from irrespective of their locations in the country,” he added.
