OTET question paper leaked, goes viral on social media


Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education on Wednesday cancelled the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) after its question papers leaked and went viral on social media.

The exam is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. As many as 1.12 lakh aspiring teachers were scheduled to appear the OTET exam across the state.

The Board has directed an inquiry after the OTET question paper leak.   

Sources said photos of the question papers went viral on social media while the first shift of the exam was underway. Education paper exam was held in the first shift.

The exam was scheduled to be held in two shifts on Wednesday. While the first shift of the exam was conducted from 10 AM to 12.30 PM, the second sitting was scheduled to be held from 2 PM to 4.30 PM.

Board of Secondary Education (BSE) president Jahan Ara Begum said, “We came to know about the OTET question paper leak. We have cancelled the exams of both the sittings. An investigation into the paper leak allegations is underway.”

She said the BSE will announce the date for reexamination soon.
