Girl commits suicide in Angul after obscene video goes viral

Angul: A girl from Odisha’s Angul district allegedly committed suicide after an obscene video featuring her went viral on the social media.

Sources said the victim, a resident under Bantala police limits in the district consumed poison on Thursday.

However, she succumbed in the District Head Quarter Hospital here.

The family members of the girl have filed an FIR against a youth, with whom the girl had an affair, with Bantala police station for making the video viral.

Sources said the deceased was in a relationship with a youth from Talcher area. During a video calling, the girl had exposed her private parts to her lover. However, the accused had captured a clip from the video calls and uploaded it on social media.

Police are investigating into the incident.
