Former Odisha CM JB Patnaik’s son likely to contest Assembly polls

Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader late Janaki Ballav Patnaik’s son Pruthvi Ballav Patnaik is likely to contest Assembly elections.

He has expressed his interest keen to contest the Assembly polls from Begunia constituency in Khurdha district.

“I am not sure whether party will give ticket to me. If party gives me ticket, I will try my best,” Pruthvi told mediapersons here.

He said that he has been working to strengthen Congress in Begunia constituency.

Pruthvi will make his maiden foray into electoral politics.

Notably, JB Patnaik had represented Begunia constituency twice in his five decade-long political career.
