Bhubaneswar: Several senior leaders on Sunday requested BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to fight assembly election from a western Odisha constituency to counter the opposition BJP and Congress in the region.
The western part of the state has been the bastion of opposition BJP and Congress.
Heavyweights from western Odisha met the Chief Minister and requested him to fight from their area.
“Leaders of western Odisha have come and requested me to contest from western Odisha and I am considering it seriously,” said Patnaik.
BJD leader Prasanna Acharya said they
have requested the BJD president to represent the western Odisha this time.
