Stage set for third phase polling in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: The stage is set for third phase polling in six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly constituencies in Odisha on Tuesday.

As many as 92,56, 322 voters — 47,99,030 male, 44,56, 629  female and 1163 belonging to the third gender category — are eligible to exercise their franchise.

Elections will be held for Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal, Koraput Lok Sabha seats and 42 assembly constituencies under them, said Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Surendra Kumar.

They will decide the fate of 61 Lok Sabha and 356 Assembly candidates in 10,464 booths.

As total of 68, 422 polling personnel have been deployed to carry out the polling smoothly in the state.

CCTVs have been installed in 779, webcasting facilities in 260 and videography would be done in 372 booths. Central Armed Police Forces have been deployed in 596 polling stations.
