Bhubaneswar: Newly elected BJD legislators will hold a meeting on Sunday to elect their new leader, informed party spokesperson Sasmit Patra.
He said the elected MLAs will meet party president Naveen Patnaik at his residence Naveen Niwas and a meeting will be held where they will elect their new leader.
After the meeting, the BJD president will meet Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal at Raj Bhawan and formally request him to allow formation of the new government.
The Chief Minister and his council of ministers will take oath at Raj Bhavan on May 29, party sources said.
Naveen Patnaik is all set to be the Chief Minister for fifth consecutive time.
Meanwhile, the BJD president expressed his gratitude to the people of Odisha for voting his party to power once again in the general elections.
“I
humbly thank everyone for giving me yet another opportunity to serve the 4.5
crore people of the state,” tweeted Patnaik.
