Odisha gets Rs 5993 crore in railway sector


Bhubaneswar: Odisha has received Rs 5993 crore in the railway sector in the Union Budget for 2019-20.

Total allotment to Odisha this year is Rs 5993 crores against Rs 5940 crores in Interim Budget. Last year allotment was Rs 5252 crores.

There is a definite increase over last year and over this year’s interim budget which includes allocation for five new surveys and some new works.

The new surveys announced

a.) Raja Athagarh to Kaipadar Road avoiding Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road.

b.) 10 Flyovers: Titlagarh, Singapur Road, Haridaspur, Koraput, Sambalpur, Machhapur, Jajpur Road, Sambalpur City, Sarla and Gopalpur Port.

c.) Chord Line from Talcher to Angul through colliery to avoid engine reversal at Talcher-14 kilometres.

d.) Bye-Pass: Byepassing from Titlagarh-Rahenbata to Sikir.

e.) Flyover at Cuttack for Goods Train to avoid congestion at Cuttack.
