Bhubaneswar: Central University of Orissa, Koraput ranked 23rd position among the 25 top Central Universities of the country, as per the Outlook-ICARE rankings.
It is a great honour for the University as well as for Koraput and the State, said Prof Sharat Kumar Palita, the Vice-Chancellor in-charge of the University.
He congratulated the University community for their continuous effort for the development as well as for the research culture that started in the year 2013.
He said, “Quality enhancement and sustenance is a continuous process. For holistic growth of the University, human resources need to be qualitatively oriented. All stakeholders need to adopt a quality culture”.
The Outlook-ICARE Rankings 2019 evaluate institutions based on parameters such as Faculty Student Ratio (FSR), Faculty with PhD (FWP), Papers Per Faculty (PPF), Citations Per Paper (CPP) and Inclusiveness & Diversity (ID).
Institutions are awarded an overall rank depending on the number of points achieved through the evaluation, and their key strengths in specific parameters are displayed. This has been designed with valuable feedback from the industry.
The Central University of Orissa established by an Act of Parliament of India in 2009 at Koraput, Odisha. Presently, the University is offering 23 programmes in research, post graduate and undergraduate programme.
Recently, the
University is in the rank band of 151-200 position in NIRF ranking.
