Odisha CM launches 22 projects of Rs 4461.42 crore


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched 22 new projects that include 10 inaugurations and 12 groundbreakings.

The 22 projects will bring an investment of Rs 4461.42 crore that will create employment opportunities for 9451 persons.

 “I congratulate all the companies on this milestone and assure everyone of complete facilitation support from the state government. These projects will usher in the next era of industrial growth in the state and will contribute towards the vision of an industrially prosperous Odisha,” said the Chief Minister.

“In the past 20 months alone, we have undertaken groundbreaking and inauguration of over 120 industrial units with an investment of Rs 92,686 crore in the state with the creation of employment opportunities for over 1.2 lakh people,” he added.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also released a coffee table book Make-in-Odisha 2018.

Industries Secretary Sanjeev Chopra said the state had received intentions of 202 projects during the Make in India conclave 2018.

“The investment is a tune to Rs 4,23,000 lakh while the employment opportunity is for 5,90,000 people. This was the list in the wake of Make in Odisha Conclave-2018. In the last 7-8 months, 61 out of the 202 projects have been accorded approval by Single Window Clearance,” said Chopra.

Besides, 6 projects have been approved through the District Level Single Window, the investment of which is less than Rs 50 crores, he added.
