Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Wednesday abolished the practice of according Guard of Honour to Chief Minister, Ministers and other government officials.
There will be no Guard of Honour (GoH) to Chief Minister, Ministers and senior government officials except on special occasions like Republic Day, Independence Day and Utkal Dibasa, said a statement from Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
The ceremonial welcome will only be accorded to the chief guests on three special days-Independence Day, Republic Day and Utkal Divas, it said.
Hence, President, Vice President, Governor, Lokayukta, Chief Justice and other judges of the Supreme Court and High Court would only receive the Guard of Honour.
