Youth held for blackmailing girl with obscene photos in Odisha

Jagatsinghpur: A youth from Bhadrak has been arrested for allegedly blackmailing a minor girl of Jagatsinghpur district with her obscene photos, said Odisha police on Sunday.

The youth has been identified as Laxmikant Das (20) of Atto village in Bhadrak district.

According to reports, the accused came in contact with the girl after dialing a ‘wrong number’ and both started talking frequently.

In the process, the youth allegedly took some objectionable screenshots of the girl and threatened her to upload those on social media.

He demanded Rs one lakh from the girl in lieu of the photos.

The girl informed her parents about the matter, following which her father lodged a complaint with the Jagatsinghpur police.
