Rehabilitation package: 600 houses for displaced in Puri


Bhubaneswar: Amid the demolition row in Puri, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced a rehabilitation package for those who have been displaced due to demolition drive carried under the security zone of Jagannath temple.

A housing project worth Rs 95 crore has been approved for rehabilitation of the displaced people.

Around 600 houses will be constructed for them within 1.5 km radius of the Shree Jagannath Temple here, said a CMO statement.

The project sites will be identified by District Administration in consultation with affected families.

Besides, Rs 25 crore has been approved for the reconstruction of Raghunandan Library within the premises of Emar mutt.
