Dance bars to reopen in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has granted permission to reopen seven dance bars in Bhubaneswar.

Excise Commissioner granted permission to seven dance bars on the conditions to operate strictly as per the guidelines under Excise Act 44 (5).

A total of 18 conditions have been asked to fulfil including installation of CCTVs on the premises and ID proofs of the performers.

The Excise department has asked the bar owners not to engage girls below the age of 21 years. Besides, they have been asked not to promote vulgarity.

The state government has taken the decision for reopening of dance bars in Bhubaneswar following the direction of Orissa High Court.
