Rourkela: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Bhubaneswar on Thursday seized smuggled foreign gold biscuits weighing 12.932 kg valued at Rs 4.99 crore from two persons travelling by Jnaneswari Super Deluxe Express at Jharsuguda railway station.
The DRI officials seized the smuggled gold from Mumbai-bound Jnaneswari Super Deluxe Express between Rourkela and Jharsuguda.
Two persons have been detained in this connection.
An official said further interrogating are on to ascertain the source of procurement of the gold.
The official said that they had
information about the illegal transportation of gold through Janeswari Express.
