Schools closed due to heavy rain in six Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The district administrations on Thursday announced the closure of schools and Anganwadi centres in Cuttack, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Gajapati and Bhadrak in view of incessant rains.

However, all teachers have been asked to remain present in their respective Headquarters for utilisation of their services as and when required.

Classes of all primary schools, upper primary schools, high schools of these six districts have been suspended.

Meanwhile, waterlogging woes have returned to haunt twin city residents following heavy downpour since Wednesday.

The met department has predicted that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue in several parts of the state.
