Engine failure: Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Air India flight makes emergency landing


Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Air India flight made an emergency landing at Raipur due to fire after engine failure.

All the passengers are safe.

The A321 Air India aircraft landed safely at Raipur airport. A total of 89 passengers were on board and all are safe, said Bhubaneswar airport authority.

“Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Air India flight made an emergency landing at Raipur due to lost one engine (shutdown),” said the airport authority.

The pilot immediately contacted the Air Traffic Control (ATC) located at the Raipur airport. The aircraft made an emergency landing at 5.57 pm.

Ollywood actor Debashis Patra, who was on flight, narrated the horror.

He said, “Passengers spotted fire on the left engine and it stopped working. Then, pilot decided to make an emergency landing at Raipur.”
