Pragya Singh Thakur removed from defence committee

New Delhi: Controversial BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur has been removed from Parliament Consultative Committee on Defence a day after she referred to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse as a ‘patriot’ in the Lok Sabha.

BJP has also barred the Malegaon blasts accused from attending parliamentary meetings during the winter session.

BJP working president Jagat Prakash Nadda said his party condemns Sadhvi Pragya’s remarks.

“Her statement yesterday in Parliament is condemnable. The BJP never supports such statement or ideology,” Nadda said.

In the Lok Sabha, the Bhopal lawmaker on Wednesday had made the remark referring Nathuram Godse as a patriot.
