Raid on OYO hotel ‘Sai Arya Residency’ for hidden cameras in rooms


Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police conducted a raid on OYO hotel ‘Sai Arya Residency’ located in the Nayapalli area and arrest two staff on charges of installing hidden cameras in rooms and later blackmailing customers through the filmed videos.

The police conducted the raid on the basis of a complaint lodged by a girl who along with her partner had stayed in the hotel on November 5.

The police conducted the raid on Thursday night.

However, OYO Hotels & Homes clarified that there was no hidden camera found at the hotel and action has been initiated against the errant staff member and suspended with immediate effect.

 “What’s been described is completely unacceptable. OYO Hotels & Homes is fully committed to ensuring the privacy, safety, and security of all our guests. Any act of misconduct by any of our partner hotels or staff thereat falls under the zero-tolerance zone for us. We would like to share that there was no hidden camera found at the hotel.

We have already initiated action against the errant staff member and he has been suspended with immediate effect. We are in touch with the guest and are providing all possible assistance. We stand ready to support the law enforcement authorities in their investigation,” OYO spokesperson in a statement.
