Bhubaneswar: Even as the Met department has predicted rainfall in several parts of Odisha, preparations are in full swing for the Christmas Day celebrations in the state.
Churches across Odisha have already been decorated with lights, candles, Christmas trees and bells for the Christmas Day.
The St Vincent’s Catholic Church in Satya Nagar here is also seen decked up with lights, stars, bells, music, and chimes.
Besides the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Christmas is celebrated in a big way in the districts of Gajapati, Kandhamal, Sundergarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and other places where Christians live in large number.
However, rain is likely to dampen the Christmas celebrations in Odisha.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that several parts of Odisha are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall on December 25 and 26.
