Eastern Zonal Council meeting begins at Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The 24th meeting of Eastern Zonal Council (EZC) has begun under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the state secretariat here on Friday.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is the vice-chairman and host of the meeting. 

Chief Ministers of Bihar, West Bengal respectively, Nitish Kumar, Mamata Banerjee are participating in the meeting. Jharkhand Finance Minister is attending the meeting.

Sources said Amit Shah, Nitish Kumar, Mamata Banerjee, and Union Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will have lunch at Naveen Nivas (residence of CM Naveen Patnaik) today.

Later, Amit Shah will address a pro-CAA rally at Janata Maidan here.

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah received a rousing reception from thousands of BJP workers after arriving at Bhubaneswar airport on a 2-day Odisha visit.
