Odisha to enforce lockdown measures more strictly


Bhubaneswar: The state government has decided to implement lockdown measures more strictly to ensure social distancing in both the urban and rural areas in the state.

The decision has been taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy on Monday, who took a reality check of the implementation of the COVID-19 preventive methods in the state.

The updates and issues relating to assistance to the Odia people stranded in other states and other state people stranded in Odisha, transport of essential goods to different parts of the state were discussed in the meeting.

Besides, feeding programme at Panchayat and ULB level, maintenance of social distancing, distribution of various types of social assistance pensions, arrangement of medical campus at Panchayat level, development of Covid-19 Critical care units, roping in of NGOs and Interagency Group volunteers for extending help to people were discussed in the meeting. 

Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Additional Chief Secretary and SRC Pradeep Kumar Jena along with Principal Secretaries, Secretaries of concerned departments and Nodal officers engaged for Covid-19 presented the updates and necessary solutions were worked out with detail deliberations.

Chief Secretary Tripathy directed to intensify feeding programme at GP level and provide food to all in need of it.
