Fourth COVID19 positive case in Odisha

Outside state links with Suryanagar, Bomikhal COVID19 patients

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has established outside state links with the COVID-19 patients of Suryanagar and Bomikhal area in Bhubaneswar.

Suryanagar patient suspected to have contracted an infection from a family member who recently travelled to Kolkata and tested positive.

One of his family members had recently traveled to Kolkata and stayed there for around 4 days. The relative was one among his 7 contacts who were detected positive yesterday, BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhury.

On Bomikhal case, the father of 3 siblings testing positive has been detected with the virus in Bhopal.

A vital link could be established as their father who works in Bhopal has also tested positive, said Choudhury.

The Puri COVID19 positive patient is a postman, who is posted in BJB Nagar Sub-Post Office, Bhubaneswar. He delivered letters recently in BJB Nagar and Goutam Nagar areas.

He had returned from Delhi on March 10. His service area was entire Gautam Nagar and Court area.

If any person from these areas has come in contact with the postman, he/she must go for mandatory home quarantine and register with govt’s 104 helpline, said the BMC Commissioner.
