Domestic violence against Anubhav: Court defers hearing


Cuttack: The SDJM court, Cuttack on Monday deferred the hearing on a petition filed by Odia film actress Varsha Priyadarshini to October 12.  

The hearing has been deferred as the district protection officer did not submit the domestic incident report under the Protection of Domestic Violence (DV) Act, informed the lawyer of the actress.

Varsha has filed a case filed under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act against actor-turned politician Anubhav Mohanty before the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate’s (SDJM) court in Cuttack.

She alleged that Anubhav is a habitual drunkard and he used to abuse Varsha in vulgar and filthy languages and also tortured her.

She also accused him of having multiple affairs.

On the other hand, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Anubhav Mohanty has filed a divorce petition against Varsha Priyadarshini in a Delhi court in July this year.

Meanwhile,

Meanwhile, DPO Manjulata Nayak went to the house of Varsha and recorded her statement.

She said that she will submit the statement of Varsha in the SDJM court later in the day.
