Bhubaneswar: The Covid-19 vaccination drive for the elderly population and the persons with co-morbidities will commence at 10 private hospitals and 12 government hospitals in Bhubaneswar from March 1, said an official on Saturday.
The people above the age of 60 years and those above 45 years with co-morbidities will get the vaccine.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said that people in the appropriate categories will be administered the COVID-19 vaccine at 22 places including 12 government and 10 private hospitals in the city.
The COVID-19 vaccine will be provided free of cost at government hospitals in the city.
However, the private hospitals will charge Rs 100 as service charge from people here, said Chaudhary.
He said the Centre is yet to announce the cost of the vaccine in private hospitals.
The BMC Commissioner said that the vaccination will be carried out in private hospitals following registration by the people on CoWIN app 2.0.
The private hospitals are SUM Hospital, KIMS Hospital, Kalinga Hospital, Blue Wheel Hospital, Aditya Ashwini Hospital, AMRI Hospital, Utkal Hospital, Neelachal Hospital, Care Hospital and Hi-Tech Hospital.
