Bhubaneswar: With the surge of Covid-19 cases, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) allowed maximum 100 persons for marriage-related functions and 50 persons for death related rituals.
BMC issued new guidelines for social gatherings in Bhubaneswar restricting the maximum number of people to be allowed in a wedding function to 100.
The following kinds of functions have been prohibited in Bhubaneswar until further order:
- Events and gatherings related to Promotional Activities/Conferences/Conclaves etc.
- Centenary/Golden Jubilee/Silver Jubilee etc. celebrations of institutions.
- Annual Events/Annual Functions of educational and other institutions etc.
For other kinds of social gatherings, the host shall have to obtain specific permission from BMC, which will be given keeping in view the requirement of the host and prevailing pandemic situation subject to maximum participants ceiling of 100 persons.
This order shall be given effect from 06-04-2021 until further orders.
“Any permission given earlier regarding number of participants and conduct of functions on and after 06-04-2021 shall stand modified accordingly and no separate modification order will be issued by BMC or any other authorities,” the BMC said.
