Covid-19 deaths: Odisha reports highest one-day toll this year


Bhubaneswar: Odisha has reported 15 deaths due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the highest one-day toll this year, pushing its fatality count to 2088.

The fresh deaths have been reported from seven districts, informed the health department on Monday.

Highest five deaths have been reported from Khordha distrct, three from Rayagada, two each from Sundargarh and Kalahandi and one each from Cuttack, Puri and  Sonepur.

The state has reported 8216 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Among the new cases, 4684 are in quarantine and 3532 are local contacts.

With this, the total number of positive cases in Odisha now stands at 479752.
